We went to Shapiro’s Deli for lunch the other day, and had the best pastrami sandwich. They make their sandwiches so big you have to split it with someone. Or you could just have someone roll you out the door when you’re done eating, ha-ha. Seriously, their servings area huge.
Shapiro’s has been around since 1905. We only live about 10 minutes away, but never seem to go there. It is a bit pricey but they have good quality food & it’s all Kosher (in case you were wondering).
The one thing I always get is the German potato salad. I would have to say it’s the best I’ve ever had, from any place, hands down. I would love, love, love to find the recipe of this. It has the perfect amount of tartness without being overbearing, and not too much mustard. The potatoes are perfectly done, good and creamy.
This picture doesn’t do their food justice. (My husband was kind of in a hurry to eat). The potato salad is in the left corner. Don’t know why I didn’t think to take a picture of it too.
If you’re ever on the South side of Indianapolis stop by Shapiro’s and enjoy.~Bam
